  Founder's Welcome

Piano playing and helping facilitate our student’s creative potential is at the heart of Pianistas. We pride ourselves in helping our students improve their academic results, develop confidence and help them deal with modern life challenges and opportunities through music.

I have taught privately for the last 15 years and was impressed to see how learning to play piano also helps students achieve overall educational success. It is an important channel for our children to express their creativity. Performing arts and playing musical instruments are an ever more important discipline and creative hobby in an era largely dominated by digital transformation and technology.

Urszula founded Pianistas, as she saw there was a demand for meaningful and personalised piano tutoring. Her passion is to facilitate musical education in jazz and classical piano amongst children and adults. She has also played in professional bands and has collaborated with the British Council of Arts, and actors from famous TV series such as “Coronation Street” and “Made in Chelsea”. Urszula has an Mmus in Piano Performance and Music Technology with a distinction.

Areas we cover

Piano

Students explore various classical periods and modern piano music, as well as learn the fundamental aspects of piano technique such as finger independence, posture and relaxation.

Sight reading

Sight-reading: we teach how to perform and read the musical piece that the student has not seen or learned before.

Aural

Listening skills lies at the heart of all good music making. We teach students how to respond and understand music.

composing

We encourage our students to compose and teach them how to write their own music pieces. There are a lot of students who create a musical piece and don’t know how to write it. Also knowing how to write music helps children understand music better.

Theory

We study the practices and possibilities of music. Abrsm and Trinity College - Theory Grade 1- 8

improvising & music technology

Playing music spontaneously and without any preparation. Children particularly love experimenting with melodies and we encourage them to make up a melody on the go.
